2025 Season Recap: The Future

The 2025 season ended for the Poneys in Hinckley on August 2nd with an 8-17 record—the team’s lowest in years. Despite the disappointment, there’s much to look forward to. With nine high school players (including six graduating seniors) and twenty players aged 21 or younger, the roster has turned over and is ready for the future. New additions like Cayden Behrmann, Jakson Scheffler, Austin Lahr, Carter Stutsman, Miles Simonsen, and Colton Vorpahl, joined returning young talent like Brayden Simones, Landon Fish, and Gavin O'Connell, promising impact for years to come. Some players will even compete at NCAA and JUCO levels next season, joining college veterans Jalen Vorpahl, Parker Schulz, and Brenden Boesen.

Veteran players remain vital. Braeden Dykhuizen, Chase Heying, Dan O’Connell, Calen O’Connell, and Charlie McBain set an example for younger teammates and keep the team grounded. Every Poney made an impact in 2025!

Growing pains were expected with so much change, including a long losing streak to close the regular season. But the Poneys finished strong, going 2-2 in the District Tournament and showcasing the promise ahead.

Thanks to all the players, fans, and families for their support. Special thanks to announcer Jesse Ouren, Kim at concessions, and the City of Sartell and Parks Department for supporting the team at St. Cloud Orthopedics Field.

As the Manager, I am thankful for another year I can hang out and play with such an amazing group of guys. I look forward to many more years as Manager and hopefully keep playing as long as I
can as well!

As planning for the 2026 Season and hosting the 2027 State Tournament begins, optimism is high. We’ll also bid to host the 2026 District 1B Tournament. For now, we’ll watch our players thrive at the high school and college levels. As always, Poney Up!
